VGT Turbo-Variable-geometry turbochargers (VGTs), occasionally known as variable-nozzle turbines (VNTs), are a type of Turbocharges, usually designed to allow the effective aspect ratio of the turbocharger to be altered as conditions change. This is done because the optimum aspect ratio at low engine speeds is very different from that at high engine speeds.
NON-VGT Turbo/Fixed Geometry Turbo-In the simplest turbocharger design, the turbine and compressor geometry are fixed and the boost pressure is entirely determined by the exhaust flow. An exhaust side bypass, or wastegate, is a common means of achieving better boost pressure control with fixed geometry turbines.
