The Tier One 6R140 towing transmission fixes some common issues with the stock 6R140 so that you can tow and haul at stock or near-stock power levels without your transmission letting you down. The HD Tow 6R140 transmission is a 100% complete, drop-in replacement transmission that doesn't require any tuning or other permanent modifications to your truck. The Tier One 6R140 HD Tow transmission includes all the internal and external transmission components you and your truck need to tow reliably at the very edge of your truck's capacity. We here at Tier include an rebuilt OE-style torque converter as an overhaul component for long-term longevity. Each transmission receives a welded input shaft that's resistant to cracking, which can cause leaks that end up roasting the overdrive clutches on trucks that are towing heavy. The 6R140 HD Tow transmission comes standard with new clutches and new steels to replace your worn stock clutches and improve shifting performance. Our 6R140 towing transmission includes a deep, cast aluminum transmission pan from PPE that increases your transmission's fluid capacity and improves cooling when you're driving aggressively or towing heavy. The 61R140 towing transmission comes with a new OEM Ford valve body and OEM transmission pump to guarantee reliable function. The HD Tow 61R140 transmission is topped off with new gaskets and seals before being air-checked to find potential leaks.

  • 35" Tire: 3.73 gears or higher
  • 37" Tire: 4.10 gears or higher
  • +38" Tire: 4.56 gears or higher

Transmission Break-in: in order to maintain your warranty, this transmission REQUIRES a 300-mile break-in and a 100-mile relearn. 

Requires Ford IDS programming: this transmission will require programming/marrying to your truck using Ford IDS after installation. Please arrange for this programming from a Ford Service Center or Ford-authorized shop with a Ford IDS subscription.

Core Charge Notice: this transmission includes a $2500.00 core charge that will be refunded once Tier One receives your stock transmission, inspects it, and finds it acceptable condition.
