- The way we verify if the High Pressure Turbo is a Good, Partial or Bad core is based on the Components Condition.
- The 3 Main components that are the biggest deciding factor of how the Core is credited is as following:
- Turbine Housing - Whether the Cage Bolts are broken/sheared/stripped/or damaged
- Vane Cage - Whether the Vanes Cycle or are seized
Center Housing - Whether the heat shield is scored or marred.
Depending on these 3 components and their condition when the core is inspected will be the deciphering factor of it the core is Good, Partial, or Bad.
If all 3 of these components are in bad condition then the core is classified Bad,
If all 3 are in good condition the core is classified a Good Core.
If all 3 of these components are in bad condition then the core is classified Bad,
If all 3 are in good condition the core is classified a Good Core.
If half the components are bad and the other half are good then it qualifies for partial core.
None of which can be determined without evaluating the turbo for Core Inspection.
